A graduate from University of North Dakota, Shawn began his insurance career in 1997.  He worked for Farmers Insurance Group as an agent, reserve district manager, and a district manager over a 13 year period of time.  During this time, Shawn sold a variety of products and worked closely with agents by training new agents to understand a customer centered sales practice and veteran agents to reach their targeted production.  He has a genuine passion for people and enjoys assisting them to meet their life insurance, long term care and group benefit needs.

Shawn has been very active National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Fargo-Moorhead Association.  He most recently served as president during 2009-2010.  He has served on the board and the executive board for the past five years.

Outside the office Shawn has been very involved in his church, Christ the King Lutheran, where he has chaperoned youth mission trips, served on the board and also held the position of president during the 2008-2009 church calendar years.   He is an avid sports fan following all levels of Moorhead athletics.  Shawn enjoys the outdoor activities of running, biking, hunting and fishing.  He loves spending time at home and the lake with his wife and children.   Shawn believes that it is important to always look for ways to “pay it forward” in life.
