Jim is best described by an award he received from Dawson Insurance - The Best of the Best. He is passionate about his work which is felt by his clients and coworkers. He not only has a business relationship with his clients but he places a strong emphasis on developing and maintaining a personal relationship as well.
Jim graduated from Fargo Shanley High School. Following gradation he started his college education at North Dakota State University and finished with his Bachelor of Science degree from Moorhead State University.
Jim’s insurance career began in 1988. He joined the Dawson team as the manager of the Financial Services department in 1996. Jim continues to enhance his knowledge of the industry and has successfully completed the educational requirements of the College of Financial Planning. Jim has also received the National Sales Achievement Award, the National Quality Award, and has been recognized as a MDRT (Million Dollar Round Table) qualifier. He is a member of the local chapter of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) as well as a member of the AGC (Associated General Contractors).
Jim is also active within the community. He serves as Mayor of Oxbow, North Dakota and is on the youth football board of Fargo Moorhead Athletics. He also serves his local community of Kindred as President of the High School Booster Club. Jim recently received an award from the Kindred Booster Club for creating an annual auction event called “Kindred Viking Pride Dinner and Auction “It’s all about the Kids!” to raise money to make Kindred Schools better. Jim truly puts heart into everything he does.
Jim enjoys time with his family and strives to be a role model to his two sons who are involved in basketball, football, track and golf. It is important to Jim to instill in his sons the value of friends and family along with the enjoyment of fishing, golfing, hunting, and snowmobiling.
